new skirts again ^^

I'm still in my holidays and sew quite a lot.

These two skirts got finished lately, both were started some time again and then thrown into some corner and forgotten ^^; But finally I wanted to finish everything in queue!

1. a balloon skirt made from a big pillowslip which I only bought because I liked the fabric to make out something out of. Theres a broad bund and a rubber strap at the downside end which gives it it's balloon quality.

2. a black/white stripes skirt. On one side theres a black ribbon sewn onto the black stripe, on the other a white ribbon sewn onto the white stripe, they unite at the hip and are bound to a bow there. The band is half black half white fabric with a ribbon of the different colour sewn onto each.

The Next Fashion Talent

This Show is a small feature from Taff (Pro7's gossip show) and airs an Tuesday and Thursday each week!
It's a casting show for Fashion Designers were the winner is going to get an own collection+photoshoot and a stipendium at Londons Design School!
I watch it online at Pro7.de so if you want to see it and don't have a TV (like me ^^) watch it there too!

In this week's 2nd issue the designers had to design+sew red carpet outfits for Mandy and Bahar from Monrose.

Bahars dress is soooooo cute *_*

The designed dresses were mostly great too! They were done in just 1day so my respect to them!

Next week there will be a dismissal again!
I would hope that Franziska will be dismissed but truely I don't think so -_-
But she is SOOOO annoying!
I really like Benahm and Carina, David (the hyperactive one) is cool too ^^
But the silent David ("the polish desing diva"... tzzz) has good ideas but he's so damn withdrawn.. I don't really know wether to like him or not!

Connichi and new clothes

Last weekend I was in Kassel at the Manga/Anime Convention Connichi!

I drove together with CityComics and thus helped them carrying packages and building up their stand. We started Friday at 6.30 o'clock -__-;

This was my stand:

The topic of my stand was to promote Aniversum Dresden e.V., a local association promoting Japanese Popculture. We have our last convention (with the Name Shumatsu which is Weekend in Japanese) this octobre.
More information on this:
Aniversum HP
Shumatsu HP

to entertain the guests passing by the stand we sew cute little lucky charms called Otedama/Ojami. You fill them with rice and can make the most funny stuff out of the very easy, hand-sewing friendly handcraft-idea!

I have build a HP (German!) on this topic, describing how to sew these and what they meant in historic Japan!
See more: Otedama HP

and to show you what you can make out of this: I made a Patrick Starfish for my Boyfriend!

different stuff now: before I left I finished a skirt!
It lay unfinished for about a while and finally I found time to complete the work:

What do you think? ^-^

The Sailor Dress

My Sailordress is finished!

it is inspired by this beautiful Sailordress which I found on some Blog:

I made a version in white and with different bags.
The bags are made after a super duper tutorial of my friend and idol mocca:

Mocca Coutures bag Tutorial

make sure to read her Blog (German)!! Mocca Couture Blog

and finally here is it: my dress

(here's the bow still missing)

a close-up on the bags:

News News News

I decided to write again, but change the topic slightly.

Now I will concentrate on my sewing-stuff and handicrafts I do.

But first of all I'd like to introduce you to my new haircolor:

and nooooow I'll show you my latest works:

1. a bag out of some Ikea fabric leftovers, birthday present for a friend:

2. a bag made out of Milk Tetrapacks
I thought this to come out easier since every crafting tutorial just said "sew the packages together..." but this was awful work to do.. as long as it was possible to do.. then my sewing machine striked the act ^^;
Most of the work was done with hot glue!

more to follow soon!
